Statue 'Figure of Color' adorns Munthof
The statue Figure of Color of the artist Tramaine de Senna was placed on the Munthof, former Muntplein, in the Sint-Andries district. The statue was temporarily placed in the City Park as part of Publiek Figure, a project by Kunst in de Stad-Middelheim Museum that is organizing a series of temporary art assignments in the City Park. The city of Antwerp has now also purchased this work and it will be placed on the Munthof. The local residents and the district of Antwerp were closely involved in the choice.
“We are actually hoping for even more images in our neighbourhood,” says Paul Struyf of the Sint-Andries Steering Group. “This image really comes into its own at our Munthof. We are satisfied.” svw
